For Sept we are working with Simple Stories, I was excited to get the December Documented Collection Kit. I have always wanted to make a December Daily Album but have never made it. I decided to make a December Fun Album for myself. I “LOVE” Christmas time it is my favorite time of year. I am going to love using this in December when I am always trying to remember where everything is.
Product Used: Simple Stories December Documented Collection Kit, Canvas Album, Glimmer mist (yellow, aqua & red), Adhesive, Scissors, Pencil, Corner Rounder, Ribbon, Sewing Machine & Thread, Alphabet Stickers, Distress Tool, Exact-o Knife and a few EXTRA’S.
Getting Started: I had to decide what album style I wanted to use. I have always liked the “Prima” Canvas 6×12 Album and I just happened to have one. Next I layered my “Kiwi Lane” designer templates the way I wanted them to look on my album and sprayed Glimmer Mists over the templates. I lifted the templates straight up off the album to make sure they didn’t smear when I took them off. I then washed the templates to make sure they came clean.
NEXT I used the Winter 3 template to make a tree and sewed it on the page. I found that on canvas and materials I prefer to sew on them to make sure things stay. I added a snowman and now I am ready for a picture in December. On the next page I used a paper from my paper kit that I thought would look cute to write my card list on, added a few things and now I just need to write my address down.
On the next couple pages I used Journey templates to make the layered tree and the tops of the tags that are on the next page. The tree I took #6 and used half of the template (like I show in the next picture). I also made them slanted to make them unique. I also sewed the tree tops and trunk before I put them together on the page.
I used Christmas and Winter templates to make the ornaments on the side. I sewed on the large one and distressed the other two. I used 7 gypsies envelope and tag to make a removable tag. Now it is ready for a picture in December. On the NEXT page I sewed the papers to make two envelopes for the tags. I then slit the plastic with my exact-o knife to insert the tags to make them removable. This page will be for our “SECRET ELF” which the girls named ELF-E.
I used another one of my papers from my paper kit and cut the 3×4 pieces out. I distressed them and sewed them on the page. The next few pages are 6×12 page protectors that I put lined paper in to write notes, recipes and anything I need to write. I have a few more things to add to this book but my album is almost ready for DECEMBER… How about YOURS???
